Artist Shi Lifeng's artistic vision presents the crisp red mournings of his beloved motherland.
His works are tinted with a sorrowful sentiment, yet the figures are as masculine as a rigid soul. They are heavily coated with a thick layer of red paint, their almost glossy-like uniforms suggest the collectivised practice in the Chinese society.
Shi utilises vibrant reds symbolising not only his intangible domestic culture, but attempts to juxtapose this energetic shade with the shattered controlling hand. Individual identity is sealed, which remains different is barely their gender. Falling apart from the controlling hand, the figures are freed from the gravity in the wilderness.
