(b. 1959, AUSTRALIA)
Born at Mt. Ellen of Anmatyerre / Warlpiri descent of Mt. Wedge and Mt. Ellen (Kerrinyarra) county, Maureen is one of the 9 children of Lena Nampajinpa.
Maureen was educated at Yuendumu Settlement and latter returned to Mt. Allen and worked as a teacher's aid. She began painting in 1981 and turned into a full time artist following the steps of her older sister, JEAN HUDSON Nampajinpa. The demand for her artwork has steadily increased over the years and she has now emerged as a painter in her own right.
