ARTIST BIO

(b. 1977, CHINA)

Unceasing masculinity spells the characteristics of sculptor Liu Ruowang's work, though with different looks, all bursting with virile energy. His works often incorporate colour, texture and even composition drawn from elements of Chinese traditional art, as well as techniques of Western sculpture. His works, within the context of contemporary sculpture, carry a much needed simplicity and dignity – a type of grass roots persistence and self-confidence.
