Tomaz Viana, also called TOZ, is from Salvador, Bahia, born in 1976. He inherited from his motherland with the shade of the ocean, fruitful nature and simple lifestyle. His beloved boyhood memories such as folk festivals and paintings classes experimenting different mediums with his mother have led him to be determined to be an artist.
When Toz left his hometown Bahia to Rio, a city with a vibrant scene of graffiti amazed him. He bagan his career as a graffiti artist with daring letters and street art languags. Not only creating works on walls, but he also applies graffiti on wood, abandoned cars, wooden crates and boxes. In his series INSOMNIA, "We canont sleep when our sentimental heart draws us to another space." Toz stated. His intense palette portrayed on this series has suggested the constant streetlight in late nights, as well as reminiscent memories with his sweet grandparents and the bygone past.
